Episode 3: CounterFeit hidden in the land of Broozer The forest path of An00bis, which Amos led us through was dark and moist. Strange sounds, like that of buzzing bees, swallowed the air. A slightly annoying pain itched at my legs –no, my head and my face. That’s when I realized An00bis’ mosquitoes attacked us. “Damn it, run!” X-treme shouted. Without hesitation, we raced through the path, until we came upon a sign that had a pink arrow painted on it. There were words written on the sign, but in some strange language. “It’s written in the tongue of the demons,” Snowshoe said. “Allow me to translate. Let’s see, uhhhh. It says…uhhhh…. Let’s see.” “GET ON WITH IT,” NoelYoshi yelled. “Okay!” Snowshoe grunted. “Don’t rush a professional.” “Professional my ass,” NoelYoshi said under his breath as if no one could hear him. “Land of Broozer, just ahead of this path,” Snowshoe read. “Took you long enough, genius,” NoelYoshi said, his sarcasm rolling off his tongue and slapping Snowshoe in his ear. Amos sighed and then led us pass the sign. Even though we weren’t quite in the land of Broozer, I could smell an endless supply of magic. And I knew it wasn’t oozing from this path, which belonged to An00bis. “Why does An00bis gets a path named after him?” Adam muttered. “Yeah he’s a so-called demon and all, but what’s so special about him.” “Well, An00bis…” I paused. “You know, let’s let Amos answer that question.” “An00bislap?” he laughed silently. “No, seriously,” I pushed. “What should we fear about An00bis?” “Well, he used to be a henchman of PissWeak,” Amos said silently. “But that’s all I know about him.” “I see,” I said. After another half hour of walking, we noticed something strange happening to the forest. It began to glitch… The trees changed into strange shapes as well as the changing colors of the ground. “Oh no… nub attack!” Amos yelled. “Find it! It’s hiding around here somewhere. Hurry before it asks—“ “Can I has custom boss?” The nub jumped out of the glitched tree and chased Amos. Amos ran ahead at full speed. “Guys catch up with me –I gotta lose this nub!” “Amos!” X-treme called. “Damn it. Stupid nubs… Come on guys, we have to catch up. Amos is trouble.” “No shit, Sherlock,” Adam grunted. We took off after them, panting and nearly tripping over the glitched vines. They were slowly turning back to normal, indicating that we were losing them. However, it didn’t take long for the forest to become garbled again. Eventually we found Amos cornered by three nubs. “Please, I want has custom bosser,” the nub from before said. “I must has.” “Stay back nub! Get away, I don’t even know ASM!” The nub frowned. “Well, I can beta test all your hacks.” Amos shivered. We decided to watch. “I don’t hack,” Amos said softly. “Sorry.” The nub grunted and examined Amos’ face correctly. He motioned to his friends and then circled Amos. “How come my hack was rejected when I submitted my rom?” He said. “Well,” Amos sighed. “Roms are illegal man. Submit an ips.” The nub frowned. I wanted to shred him for being such a nub. It wasn’t that hard to open up a free copy of the book of frequently asked questions and find the answer to his problems. I shook my head. The nubs blinked twice. “Uh..How?” One of them asked. Amos face palmed. “GAW!” He yelled and then suddenly made a run for it. We hurried after him. The run was painful –it felt like hours were passing as we pushed away from the nubs. Luckily, we lost them after doing the old hide-in-a-bush trick. “Amos, you dick,” Adam snarled. “You didn’t have to leave us back there you know.” Amos frowned. “Sorry old chap. Nubs are just…gawh.” “Well, at least we covered some distance,” Snowshoe, said. “So the path of An00bis is infected with nubs huh? We’d better go before we run into more—” “Well well, I spot intruders, do I not?” A voice said. It sounded like it came from the shadows of the forest. “Come out and show yourself,” Amos said. “An00bis.” An00bis stepped from behind a tree with a red sword grasped in his hands. “We meet again, Amoslap,” An00bis said. “Where’s that potty mouth mutt of yours?” “I think Absol would rather chew on munchers then be in your presence,” Amos said. NoelYoshi sighed. “An00bis don’t stand in our way. We really have a serious problem –and we don’t have time to waste with you.” “Yeah,” X-treme agreed. An00bis laughed. “I don’t give a crap about your problems.” “Really,” I said. “Even if the threat of the black wands has returned?” “What?” An00bis yelled. He paused. “I don’t believe you. Neither would I care if they have returned. Arbe was the one who created them in the first place and he has disappeared. Those wands were destroyed by the admins of smwc, there’s no way—” “But they are,” Snowshoe said. “And your idiocy—” “Enough!” An00bis yelled. “Prepare to die –I’m starting with you, Amos!” An00bis dashed at him and swung the sword. Amos evaded the swing and then pulled out his black compass. He pointed it at An00bis and winked. An enormous burst of green light emitted from it. An00bis grunted, rolling out of the path of the light. Snowshoe was nearly hit --we quickly spread out the path of Amos and An00bis’ duel. “Watch where the hell you’re pointing that thing,” Snowshoe shouted. “Ass.” “Amos, you won’t beat me,” An00bis said, charging full speed at Amos. His blade collided with Amos’ compass. A luminous spark of electricity screamed from the collision. An00bis roundhouse-kicked Amos to the ground and then pointed his sword to his neck. “You see, I always win.” Amos grinned. “Just what the hell are you smiling for?” An00bis snarled. “Well, there’s one problem,” Amos said softly. “You see, my compass...is well, a little insane. If you kill me, you’re going to die with me, from its explosion.” Amos looked at us. “And so will all of you.” “AMOS WHAT THE?” we all yelled. “That’s right?” Amos laughed. “So do it, An00bis.” Was Amos bluffing? I couldn’t tell, but could An00bis. I didn’t want to die because of this duel, so whispered an incantation. “Don’t interfere,” Adam said, placing his hand on my shoulder. He lowered his voice. “Even An00bis knows it’s a bluff…but, he also know not to underestimate Amos’ compass. Something is very weird about it.” An00bis shook his head. “You’re such a pest Amos. Your bluff won’t work on me –die!” Amos quickly rolled out of the path of the blade. An00bis swung it at the air. Suddenly, a shockwave of blue light emitted out of edge. It sliced through the ground and headed for Amos. He quickly evaded its path, but An00bis wasn’t done yet. He unleashed more of the light. Amos barely avoided each of them. Eventually An00bis halted to a pause after unleashing many rounds of the energy. Amos was panting for breath. “Well well, it looks like the great Amos is failing right here before me?” An00bis turned his gaze at X-treme. “Witness the downfall of your partner.” X-treme gave him the middle finger. NoelYoshi sighed. Snowshoe scratch his chin. “Get up Amos,” Snowshoe said. “Come on Amos,” I said. “Yeah Amos,” NoelYoshi said. “Don’t snooze on us now.” “Amos, if you lose, you suck,” Adam laughed. We all gave Adam the blank stare and then refocused on the situation. “Don’t over worry yourselves,” Amos said. “I won’t let this nub defeat me.” “So full of yourself,” An00bis yelled and then unleashed another slice of blue light. Amos closed his eyes and chanted something. He placed his compass in the path of that blue light. “Destroy,” Amos said grimly. Just then, an enormous vortex of black water emitted from the mouth of the compass. Not only did it suck in the blue light, but also it destroyed An00bis’s sword. “No, no, no –what’s going on?” An00bis fell to his knees. “I can’t lose.” “Don’t ever underestimate me,” Amos said softly. “If you walk away, I will allow you to live.” “This isn’t over,” An00bis growled. “I will have my revenge.” He vanished in a thick cloud of smoke. Amos sighed. “He doesn’t know when to quit.” He turned to us. “Well, shall we continue to the land of Broozer? It’s just up ahead.” The land of Broozer was unbelievably amazing. Colors to every object were lively –and every shape, every tree –even the skies looked like something out a painting. I could live here. “Guys, Broozer’s mansion is just ahead, see?” Amos pointed at an enormous brown building several Yards ahead. “Holy crap –that’s Broozer’s mansion?” Snowshoe asked. “Yes,” Amos replied. When we arrived to the front gates, an old acquaintance of Adam, BlackEagle greeted Adam. It turned out that he needed advice from Broozer, concerning graphics for a project of his. We decided to follow him inside. The minute we stepped inside, we heard a yell. “NO! I don’t wanna go!” “Damn it Counterfeit, you can’t stay in here forever!” That name, I thought. It couldn’t be. I noticed Snowshoe was thinking the same thing: just what the hell is going on? We rushed up the first set of stairs, following the yell. We noticed an open door and raced in. Counterfeit sat in a bed in a fetal position, holding a yellow gemstone. Broozer was on his knees. “Pllleease Kyo,” he said. “Don’t abandon your duties from the Fearsome Five and SnowFort. This place isn’t that good –just what is your problem?” “I’m not going.” I was surprised to see Counterfeit acting this way. “Kyo what the hell?” Snowshoe said. “Return to the Fort at once –we can’t have everyone abandoning it.” “No!” she whined. “Just what’s happened?” “You guys can’t leave there alone –and I like it here. I’m never leaving.” I chuckled. “I’d NEVER think I see you act this way.” Counterfeit gasped. “Syr? Wait..what –have you rejoined the Fearsome Five?” “No,” I said. “I’m just on a mission for SNN and ran into these guys. How have you been?” Counterfeit didn’t answer. “Well?” I said. “You’re such a coward, Syr,” she muttered. “You were the second in command –why would you give that up just to become some loser! You know, I really thought of you as Snowshoe’s successor!” “Now is not the time for this, Counterfeit,” I said. “You know why I left the Fearsome Five –I didn’t come here to debate that.” “You should die for leaving,” she growled. “Fucking die.” A dark aura emerged around Counterfeit. She stood up. Broozer jumped back. “Kyoseron, calm down,” Snowshoe said softly. “How can you still want him alive?” Counterfeit said. “You can’t join the Fearsome Five, become family and then just leave. That’s bullshit –how can you forgive him for abandoning his post? I would expect more from our leader.” “Calm yourself!” Snowshoe growled. “A member of the Fearsome Five does not present themselves with unnecessary fighting, especially since Syr was well respected. He has his reasons for leaving –we can’t kill him for that.” CounterFeit glared at me, hatred spewing from her eyes like hell’s fire. They rather frightened me. “Whatever,” she said and sat back in her position. “I’m not leaving this mansion.” “Why?” NoelYoshi asked. “Are you leaving us too –you won’t be any better than Syr.” “I can’t…” Counterfeit said softly. “Not because of…their threat.” “Who?” “X,” she answered. “The X-force and their damn black wands!” “Holy shit,” Amos said. “Not this ‘X’ guy again. We encountered one of the members as well. Syr was almost killed.” “If I wasn’t in danger, I’d like the X-force,” she said, giving me another glare. I sighed and wondered if NoelYoshi and Adam secretly felt the same way. Just then, there was a small knock on the wall. We turned around and noticed Blumiere walking through the door. His moderator badge gleamed brightly on the side of his pocket. “Broozer, called me?” he asked. “Oh great,” Snowshoe grumbled, “A mod.” “Shut up Snowshoe,” Blumiere grunted. “Anyway, Broozer, I’ll take care of this for you.” “Wait. Just wh—” “Banned!” Blumiere pointed a finger at Counterfeit. She gasped and right before our eyes, vanished. “What the hell?” I, Snowshoe, Adam, NoelYoshi, Amos and X-treme yelled. We couldn’t believe we watched CounterFeit, get banned right before our very eyes. Even though she hated me, I would never wish such a fate upon her. Kyoseron, was banned and at the same time, we were in a race against the black wands. Our luck just became shit. to be continued.....
